Third Wave Coffee Company in Crofton offers more than your typical coffee stop. Nestled just a short walk from the ferry terminal, it’s a blend of cafe, gift shop, and metaphysical supply boutique, making it a spot where locals and travelers alike can pause for a robust cup of coffee while browsing unique items—from smudging supplies to meaningful rocks and gifts.

The coffee here leans toward quality and thoughtful preparation, evident in their well-rounded flat whites and carefully crafted specialty drinks like a smooth affogato with customizable flavors and whipped cream. Regulars appreciate that the pumpkin spice latte strikes a balance—not too sweet, which suits those who prefer their coffee nuanced rather than sugary.

Food options are simple but satisfying, with breakfast sandwiches such as the “Just The Facts, Ma’am” (egg, cheese, bacon on an English muffin) and wraps perfect for a light meal or takeout. Baked goods like house-made muffins and Nanaimo bars offer a moist, fresh complement to the coffee. It’s a practical stop before heading out for a walk along the boardwalk or catching the ferry, with indoor seating that’s bright and welcoming, plus outdoor spots to enjoy the mild coastal weather. There’s even a walk-up service window for grabbing coffee without stepping inside, ideal for those on the move.

The vibe is casual and community-oriented: expect friendly, efficient service and a cheerful mood that can lift your spirits, especially if you’ve been stalled by a crowded ferry or need a midday pick-me-up. The mix of locals, ferry travelers, and curious visitors creates a relaxed, approachable atmosphere throughout the day.

Whether you’re after a solid coffee and quick bite, need some metaphysical or rock shop finds, or just want a friendly place to gather your thoughts before continuing your day, Third Wave Coffee Company anchors itself as a practical and welcoming spot in Crofton’s neighborhood rhythm.

The ferry was full. It went without us. But all is not lost. We wandered up to Third Wave. Such a happy, friendly atmosphere. They introduced my friend to affogato coffee. Bonus: you can get added flavours and whip cream. Great service and we enjoyed every bit of our treat. The experience changed the tone of our day from chippy to cheery.

Best pumpkin spice latte ever for someone that does not like super sweet coffee 10/10 recommend. Also Their muffins are house made and the perfect mix of moist and soft.

Had a great time here during my stop in Crofton. Stopped for a quick bite and coffee, got a G wrap and flat white coffee, both were excellent. Staff were very nice as well with quick service. I didn't try the Nanaimo bar but I didn't have a peanut butter chocolate square and it was to die for. A decent amount of seating options here (indoor and outdoor)

Good place to stop for a flat white before your walk along the boardwalk or while waiting for the ferry to Salt Spring Island. Lots of interesting products for sale. Great place for your smudging supplies.

Lovely coffee shop close to the ferry terminal. Had lunch while waiting for the ferry… coffee and the “Just the facts, Ma’am” egg, cheese, and bacon on English muffin. Food is tasty, staff was friendly, bright and cheery. You can eat inside or outside or do take-out. They have a service window on the outside allowing you to order without going inside, if so desired. Glad I stopped and will happily stop and eat again.

I love these people. They fed me WELL 3 × today. Amd VERY affordably! All was super yummy. I had a breakfast sandwich GF 9A. Then, at noon, I had phenomenal smoked salmon and cream cheese with capers. Coffee is excellent , but later, I had an iced specialty, non caffeinated tea. That felt more like some exotic non sugary drink, I just loved it, too! Seriously, I am rather hard to please. So my going back three times in one day says ALOT. And they have the cutest trinkets, jewelry, etc. The whole place, food, gifts, and vibe is so bohemian. LOVE THAT! Authentic! The staff really go out of their way for you; LOVELY people! Not to mention the place is clean, bathroom et all!! A block up from Salt Spring Ferry. GO small business, GO!! Patio has an amazing view of bay between Crofton and Salt Spring. Pics are the view from several angles like the patio, at high& low tides, and loading ferry.
